I listen to the Hugh Hewitt show a lot and really like him.  He is one of three talk radio guys I still avidly follow and definitely one of the best out there.  Great content, great guests.  But like just about everyone out there he doesn't get why we don't connect to youth.  It has nothing with technology.  Believe me, I am an academic librarian and work very closely with youth.  I skate with them, snowboard, film and edit video.  We even built most of our music collection using Myspace to get suggestions from our target demographic.  What Hugh and everyone fails to understand is that technology is external and alien to him, but it is internal for millennials.  They dont think about it anymore than we think about writing and literacy.  Hugh's and everyone elses concerns dont mean a thing becauase everyone in this generation will be technologically savvy.  They wont be literate, but they will use it the same we we write our names, get water from the faucet, flick a light switch.  It means nothing.  It is just a part of life.  So conservatives need to stop worrying about technology, and start using it to engage with youth.  To be fair to Hugh, that is part of his whole campaign, but he still misses the point.  It is still the message, and not the medium.  We need to come up with a good message.  I will be writing lots about this in the future, because I have been successful with the message.
